Runnyknows ran in the Alcudia Half Marathon this morning. Johanna finished second in her category, Miguel third in his and Georgette achieved a PB time of 1h58! Well done, us! :)
Runnyknows went along to the III Cursa Popular de Sa Vermada in Binissalem yesterday evening to take part in a 8km run through the José L. Ferrer vineyards (this is becoming a regular occurrence, running through vineyards!). There was no wine en route this time though, just water! A pretty route and great atmosphere, plus going the wrong way, getting stuck down a muddy path and having to climb through a wire fence whilst runners whizzed past us, all led to a very FUN run indeed! There
was more enjoyment in store as all runners were invited to noodles and wine afterwards. A great evening out. Well done to Wendy, who came along with us and took part in the race in preparation for the TUI Half Marathon in Palma in October.
A very Happy Birthday to Super George! An excellent runner, George at 72, has run the equivalent of twice around the world (probably more than that now) and is still running strong. His next big goal is the XX World Masters Athletics Half Marathon in Brazil next month. Best of luck, George!
A great 'On Cloud 9' 14k run this morning with Claire from Birmingham who is training for the Birmingham Half Marathon next month. Well done, Claire! You did brilliantly!
Another birthday run this morning! This time for the
mighty Gareth! He started his birthday with a 7.5k run with us and the lovely Wendy through the pretty little streets of Pollensa and along country lanes, finishing with a stretch, a beer, a browse around the Sunday market, another beer ... You get the picture! A fab and fun Sunday run-day!
We accompanied Ian for 24kms of his 32km run this morning in preparation for the Dublin Marathon on October 28th and are pretty sure that he will do well and
achieve his goal. Best of luck, Ian!
A great Hidden Valley 9k run this morning with Wendy the Birthday Girl. At one with nature, we enjoyed the beautiful natural surroundings and the peace and
quiet of the valley.
A brilliant 'Another Day in Paradise' 13k run this morning with Ian. Lovely and cool through the wooded mountainside. Great views, fantastic sensations and
fabulous company! Thanks, Ian! Porridge time now!
Runnyknows is back after completing the Medoc Marathon in France at the weekend. What an amazing race! If you are thinking of running a marathon, choose this one! Just one big party from beginning to end, runners in fancy dress zig-zag from one chateau to the next sampling delicious wine and food and listening to live music along the way. Our goodie bags included a bottle of wine, of course, amongst other things, and a free lunch was laid on for all runners, plus a riverside dance and firework display in the evening. We were disappointed with our time of just under 5 hours and hope to do it again some day in a more respectable 6h30!
Keep your trainers stink-free by washing them in a bucket of cool water and very mild detergent once every couple of months.
