Thanks to Carol, a runner and cyclist from the West Midlands, for being as crazy as me and going out for a wet and wild coastal run this morning. After an epic cycle ride to Sa Calobra yesterday, Carol came out on our Tombs and Dunes 9k with me despite 'dead legs' and did brilliantly. There was a lot of 'woohoo-ing' going on as the waves crashed into the rocks and the sea came right up to the sandy paths we were running along but it was all great and we survived the sinking sand! Well done, Carol! Breakfast and spa now. You deserve it!

Thanks to Amanda for joining me on this morning's run. We changed the planned route to the Another Day in Paradise 13k, so did a few more kms than anticipated, but it was great with beautiful views and lovely company all the way. Sporty Amanda from Wiltshire especially loves the half marathon distance and is psyching herself up to do a full marathon in the near future. Good luck, Amanda! You'll be great!
![]() We had a great Another Day in Paradise 13k run with Ian, Gemma, Warren and Keith this morning. A lovely group of runners! We enjoyed the chat, the route and the views along the way. The morning mist looked gorgeous over the sea. Warren and Gemma from London are keen runners. Warren is training for the London 2 Brighton 100k Challenge next month. Wow! And Gemma is just getting back into running after a hip injury but looked great today. She has completed the London Marathon four times and will be competing again in no time, we're sure. Keith from our beloved Ivanhoe Runners Club did a grand job despite having forgotten his running gear and eaten dodgy oysters the night before! What a star! And Ian is steadily improving in pace and stamina. We'll have to watch out in July as he might be sprinting ahead of us by then! Well done, guys! P.S. Say 'cheese'!
![]() We had a great run this morning with Katie and Chris. The King's Castle 19k route was Katie's longest run to date and she was amazing and didn't stop whilst going up the relentless hill from the cove. What a girl! Her first half marathon in Plymouth next week will be a piece of cake! ;)Speedy Chris has kept up his London Marathon training whilst out here on holiday and we reckon he'll smash it and do brilliantly too. Both Katie and Chris will be running on the same day, Sunday 23rd, so best of luck to both of you! But more than anything, enjoy the experience! Well done! Great running!
We had a great morning run today with Ian, Katie, Chris and James. Our Another Day in Paradise 13k was a recovery run for James, Joaquín and myself after our weekend races and good training for Katie, who is relatively new to running, and training for the Ocean City Half Marathon in Plymouth and also for Chris who is running the London Marathon, his first, on the 23rd of this month and aiming for a sub 3h10. He certainly proved that he was in shape today. Well done, guys!
Thanks to James, Stef and Andy for joining me on our Another Day in Paradise 13k run today. This is a gorgeous route along undulating (my favourite word) country lanes, mountain track and rugged coast. A tough workout but well worth it for the beautiful sea and mountain views along the way. A great run in great company. Well done, guys!
Thanks to the lovely Stef and Andy, fell runners from Yorkshire, for joining us this morning on our King's Castle 19k run - a spectacular and peaceful route in natural surroundings. We stopped to admire the swooping black vultures overhead and the baby goats leaping across the mountainside as well as the countless sheep with bells which spread out over the green fields. We also paused to listen to a frogs' chorus along the torrent on the way back. A great nature trail in great company. Well done, guys!
