Thanks to Elaine (Supergirl!) for joining me today on our Another Day in Paradise 13k run and for the lovely company. Elaine, a dentist, running coach and running guide from Dundee is a member of Dundee Roadrunners and also helps organise a local park run. Having completed ultras, marathons, half marathons, you name it, Elaine is on the island to enjoy a bit of cycling too, and her next big challenge is the Lakeland Trails Marathon this summer. It's exhausting just reading about her! :) So, if you're ever in Dundee and want to know about running routes, she's your girl!
Thanks to Lee from Liberty Kitchen for joining me on our Tombs and Dunes 8k this morning. Lee recently ran the Pollensa Half Marathon and is keeping up the training for a forthcoming 10k in Palma and the Barcelona Half next spring. He's unstoppable! We enjoyed a leisurely jog along some gorgeous coastline and through some very pretty seaside woodland. A great little workout to start the day!
Today was an eventful day what with racing and food poisoning. I took part in the Segovia Half Marathon and shouldn't have due to an injury but ... all runners out there will understand. Not only was it the hardest half I've ever run being very hilly and at high altitude, but I limped the whole route. Thanks so much to Joaquín for propping me up at the end. The food poisoning is another story, but despite the challenges thrown at me, I had a great weekend! What an amazing city! :)
Thanks to James and Richard who joined me this morning on our Another Day in Paradise 13k. Both guys ran the Pollensa Half Marathon on Sunday and were back out pounding the streets with me today. Richard, from Chester, is training for his first marathon next month in Edinburgh and judging by Sunday's race and this morning's seemingly effortless run, I think he'll do a brilliant job. Well done, guys!
Thanks to Shelley and James for a fun start to the day. We ran our Beside the Seaside 10k route along country lanes and beautiful coast. The sea was flat calm this morning and the sun shone. We admired the views, took some cool photos and chose ourselves a boat each at the marina. Happy days.
Thanks to Lucy for joining me this morning on our Magic Moments 11k run. We started nice and early and had the whole route to ourselves, apart from a couple of chickens, some sheep, goats and donkeys ... oh and not forgetting the giant jellyfish which turned out to be a buoy! A great morning!
A fantastic On Cloud Nine 14k run with Shelley. A bit of a dull sky, but very colourful T-shirt and socks!
Thanks to Ian, Gemma and Warren for coming out with me today on our Tombs and Dunes 8k run. This stunning little coastal route is great any day, but today, with the sun shining down and some fabulous company, it was the perfect start to my Easter Sunday. Happy Easter, everyone!
Lucy, who is in training for the London Marathon next month, joined me this morning on our Another Day in Paradise 13k route and will still be running as I write on her way back to Pollensa from Aucanada. In an hour or so, she will have completed her long training run of about 22 miles. The weather for our 13k session was bizarre. We experienced rain, cold, wind, sun and at the very end, hail stones! But as Lucy rightly pointed out, you never know what the weather is going to do on race day, so it's all good practice. A great training run with dramatic sea views. Good luck in London, Lucy!
Thank you to Teresa from the mighty Ivanhoe Runners and Marilén from here in Mallorca for joining me this morning on our Another Day in Paradise 13k run. Beautiful natural surroundings, sparkling sea views and lovely company = a fabulous start to the day!
